Top Tips to a Covid Safe Night out in Leeds

If you are anything like us, you may feel like the world has gone crazy overnight. Waking up in a pandemic has caused chaos to our otherwise, fast paced lifestyles of juggling the dream of a work-life balance, family and of course letting loose at the weekends.

If you are anything like us, you may feel like the world has gone crazy overnight. Waking up in a pandemic has caused chaos to our otherwise, fast paced lifestyles of juggling the dream of a work-life balance, family and of course letting loose at the weekends.

So you’d think a pause to life would be a welcome addition to the regular mayhem. And for a little while, it was. We all baked banana bread, we got green fingered, and we took up walking, cycling and walked the dog so much it started hiding when we brought the lead out!

We talk of a new normal, but what does that even mean. There is idioms every second, but they are no longer providing comfort. What we really want is human contact – the very thing we are unable to do, at least how we used to.

So how do we get our thriving social lives back to ‘normal’ in a safe way? Is going ‘out-out’ still a thing? We think so!

  • Build Your Bubble

We all want to see all of our friends, but we are in an interim moment where we need to plan ahead. Whatever the recommended group size at the time, it’s important to stick to the rues to stay safe. But also consider your groups – and how you manage your bubbles – it’s crucial for mental health that you leave no man behind – so manage your bubbles with care. Got more than the recommended number in your social group? Split into 2 groups – make sure everyone feels involved.

  • Make Memories

Whatever your opinions, the pandemic, and wavering speculations of a Leeds lockdown, or Yorkshire wide restrictions, give the perfect reasoning for making lasting memories.

What does that mean? Choosing your venue/s will make or break your night. Where do you want to be? Forget the ideas of a mass bar crawl – it’s just not going to happen. So pick the venues that you know you can while away the hours in.

  • Book Ahead

Book book book! Why? To avoid disappointment! No-one wants to be trailing around the city, looking for somewhere to go, when all you really want to be doing is having a witty conversation with your besties. If it’s one thing we’ve learnt, time with our loved ones is our most valuable commodity right now.

Booking rules are changing, so make sure you check ahead on the latest rules and regulations – read the Covid safety guidelines on the venue’s website to ensure your group’s safety in advance. Booking  a Leeds bar could not be easier – visit the venue websites, google listings or event bookings. Most are also taking bookings via their social media platforms also.

  • Savour the Moments

Responsible drinking is a must. Savour each sip, the same way you savour the great conversation, and exceptional wit of your co-patriates. Help keep yourself safe with a great mindset, and the goal of creating lasting memories in your favourite Leeds bar!

Yes, we cannot wait till we can once again return to normality, with dancing, laughter and group interaction. But until then, stay safe.
